Sprite limitations
#1
Question
Are we supposed to stick to the NES's three-colors-per-sprite limit, or are we allowed more freedom to design more colorful sprites?

I ask because I've already designed a few and they use a few more colors than the NES could handle, so it'd be nice to know before I put too much effort in.

I think Game Maker will let you do whatever you want as long as it's 256 colors or less.

But you might lose aesthetics points if it clashes too much.

You are allowed to break what the nes can do. There should not be a rule that dictates that.
