Chroma Key is the 16th place entry in Make a Good Mega Man Level. It is arranged in a color theme, and infamous for having loads of enemy spam. The latter issue gave the level the dubious "honor" of being Duvi0's least favorite level.

Strategy
Aside from a Sniper Armor it's pretty much smooth sailing until a Rolling Drill chase section. Either get behind them or try to escape. After the Rolling Drills, there will be a few rewards and a small section with Blockies and Helipons. After a Hot Dog in a box (actually two) you will reach the infamous Telly Spam of 2016 (which is actually a really good spot to farm Bolts). Run past it and it won't do much. There's also a Hot Dog at the end, though he doesn't really matter. Finish a little simplistic platforming with Petit Snakeys. Then you will find something worse than Telly Spam: Taban Spam. Top Spin and Thunder Wool are extremely useful in this section. Then you'll fight a Big Snakey (which can be obliterated using the Thunder Wool) that when defeated will open up the gateway to the yellow section. In the yellow section, the fans act like water without the splashing animation. After the first fan, there's a badly placed Power Muscler and a few more enemies and gimmicks. Level over.

{{JudgeComment1
|pyro =The idea behind this stage was super neat, and I LOVED the mixture of the included tilesets (it looked great!), but the stage in general just didn't seem too terribly fun? Parts of it really felt like enemy spam, and while there were a couple neat things (like using the Hot Dog as a stage obstacle), it felt like enemies were kinda just slapped down, especially in the section with the snake miniboss.
|cheez =There's a right way and a wrong way even for something like enemy spam. The right way in this case is to break up a constant stream of enemies with well-placed breathers- that way the game doesn't respawn, oh, say... a pair of ballistic green clowns every time the player backs away from anything. I at least loved the look of the first half, but then the level enters the jungle and loses what little focus it had.
|mick =This is a unique concept! I didn't quite expect this sort of level, and it worked decently well... conceptually. However, there are definitely some issues with the level design itself. First is the absolutely insane Telly spam, if you wait for much longer than 3 seconds that room becomes basically unmanagable. The Power Massler near the end also kind of bugged me since it was almost impossible to no damage without weapons. I managed to work around these issues, but not everyone will, creating a bit of a problem with this level. Final Comment: Beyond the Time is a good song.

Identity Crisis is the first place entry in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2. It is a level entirely revolving around the idea of forced weapon usage, featuring puzzles involving half of the game's weapon roster. However, it goes above and beyond by also giving the player a skin of each weapon's Robot Master. These include, in order of appearance: Hornet Man, Jewel Man, Nitro Man, and Bright Man. The level also goes out of its way to create various challenges that test the player on how well they use the weapons they're allowed, including hiding a Noble Nickel in each of the Robot Master review sections. In addition, in typical Mega Man fashion, there is a final section that combines all the presented challenges and mutating them for some very clever setups. This ends the stage on an optional, but mostly fun fight with Alter Man, a Mega Man look-alike with the remaining four weapons to use to fight against the player.
Judge Comments
{{JudgeComment2
|pyro = It's reeally on the long side, but MAN IS THIS AMAZING!!!!!! The concept alone is really, really neat, and then it goes and just makes extremely creative setups using only HALF the weapons in the engine. It makes for an honestly fantastic level. There's so many setups in this level that I absolutely adore, like the Docron/Hornet Chaser barriers, the Ring Man platform/Wheel Cutter sections, and like, freaking all of the Jewel and Bright sections. Sooo much of the level is just super clever. And then after the four really cool sections you get an awesome final section that ties everything together and COMBINES the characters in really cool ways. I loooove the Hornet/Bright crusher setup, it's really creative. And there's a pretty neat extra boss fight at the end!! The level is just suuuper great and I love it. Honestly though, the length kinda brings it down - it takes really long to get through on your first playthrough, let alone any subsequent ones. But honestly, I didn't really mind playing it again because it's just such a blast to play through. It does kinda lose its luster so to speak on second playthroughs, though. I still really love it though aaahh <3
|jupi = I want you to know that you were very, very, VERY close to getting a perfect score from me, but...I somehow got the secret boss to disappear. I think it was my fault, though. Still, this is such an amazing level! All of the playables look so good and clearly had effort put into them (I can finally play as Hornet Man ;-;) and you showed that you really know how to use their weapons! The Bright Man sections were especially good, because you thought about how the Flash Stopper would freeze everything, so you made enemies that ONLY attack when you use Flash Stopper! Genius! Absolutely GENIUS! I won't be surprised in the slightest if this level wins.
|enjl = 4 great stages in one followed by a finale that... I found to be somewhat lackluster. This level does a great job at making use of the 4 weapons it is centered around and I'm a fan of the variety of challenges provided in the level's "first 4 halves", buuut I feel like that's where it could've ended and nothing of value would've been lost. Alternatively, all those segments could have been shortened, compacted, and the final section could have incorporated the omitted aspects while putting them in the context of challenges that require multiple robot masters to solve, which is something I wish it did more. The final section has, in my eyes, so much wasted potential that it could have almost entirely been put into the previous 4 sections without big changes. The combined powers of robot masters are used once or twice in total while the rest of the challenges don't really expand upon what has been laid out in the robot master introduction segment. I ended up getting pretty bored during the final section of the level because of that, combined with the fact the level goes out of its way to interrupt its own flow between segments, making me painfully aware of its length during the first half and making the rest of the level just feel like a drag.
The ideas behind the level in general are really awesome and original, and overall the level looks and plays great. I'd say that maybe there are a few moments where the level gets a little boring, but that's not a huge issue. I'm seriously impressed by the effort put into this level.
|gacreativitynote = It's genius. I found the concepts and level theme extremely interesting.
|gaaestheticsnote = Excellent.
|gafunctionnote = Works just fine.
|ace = Under normal circumstances, I'd be trying to come up with faults for the stage. Areas that bothered me.
And there is only one: The boss should not have been made optional, because nothing about him hints that he is too hard for the average player, because frankly he isn't, and it would've ended a traditional run of the stage on a much higher note.

.... that is about it. I can't even nitpick. This was stunning.

Not only were the dev-kit assets used well - they were used creatively. This is not just a solid stage, it's creative, and manages to create a very good balance between minor puzzle elements / precision platforming and timing.

It would appear there is a right way to do forced weapon usage after all! You could've gone with just using Mega Man's graphics there.. but you didn't. You went above and beyond. Fantastic stage.
* This level fades in from black slower than other levels do. This did not occur when Shinryu submitted the level, and the cause for it is unknown.
* The Alter Weapons are completely disabled in this level, regardless of Mega Man's current costume.
* If Mega Man starts the level with the Hornet Man or Bright Man costume equipped, he will be locked to that Robot Master's Special Weapon as if he had been transformed into them.
* Shinryu has said that at one point, Slash Man was intended to be one of the Robot Masters the player could transform into; he was scrapped due to his limited sprites (which would have come from Rockman 7 FC).
Mount Sabre is the 13th place entry in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2. It very heavily based on Crystalis, a top-down NES action RPG by SNK, but none of the judges knew what it was referencing.
{{JudgeComment2
|pyro = Oh hey more references I don't get. Very interesting level, though I'm not sure if I like the first half all that much? I don't really think it introduces the new enemies and its concepts very well and the usage of the melting ice blocks is okay at best, and there's a couple awkward jumps that annoy me. Also, the zombies don't actually run into you, they stop right in front of you. Once the level gets to the second half, though, it gets a lot more interesting, with some actually pretty difficult setups involving those sound wave enemies. It actually plays really well and I like it a lot. The level also has a lot of charm going for it too, with funny dialogue through it and it just seeming really clashy in an adorable way seeing Mega Man just running around in what seems to just be your typical NES RPG that didn't actually leave Japan. So while the first half is pretty weak, the rest of the level is strong enough that I can still call it a pretty great level.
|jupi = This is so cool! I have no idea what game this level is based off of, but I really liked it nonetheless. My main issue was with the cave section. The green Dratini-looking things and the spiders were spammed WAAAY too much. The bats were annoying and it seemed like my shots went through them. Also, the boss was pretty boring and it felt like more could have been done with it. Still, the level is pretty fun overall and has a nice aesthetic, making it an enjoyable experience.
|enjl = What a charming stage!!! It feels like an adventure and somehow the top down + sidescroller mix works beautifully. It's a bit long, but really well designed and doesn't suffer from its aesthetic either. I think if it was stripped from all its custom graphics it'd still hold up as a fun and interesting stage. I think the enemies here have a bit too much HP and some jumps and sections can be rather tricky to overcome, especially when relying on the buster, but this stage is great regardless!
|garirry = I kinda feel bad not knowing what franchise this level makes reference to. Even that aside, I really liked the ideas used and how they were used. The only exception to this is that one section which you can climb like any ladder, since it is very hard to guess that you can, in fact, climb it. Other than that, the level design is fairly solid, although I didn't like the very precise ice blocks section, and a few other places with enemies requiring precision or timing to avoid. Other than that, there's not much else I can say about this one, except that I really liked it.
|gafunction = 5
|ace = I have no idea what this stage is a reference to, admittedly. But it is a neat idea for a level! And that is really all this is - a clever idea that is not expanded upon to any great depths.
You nail the look of the stage though - it's seriously unique. Mega Man traversing an overhead landscape? Cool! Nothing in the level actually taking advantage of this unique opportunity? That's a shame. At the very least nothing feels like it's pointless or added for no reason, so the level is at least coherent.

Still, by purely platforming standards, it's fun enough. Your new enemy assets are solid, even if a few of them had perhaps a little too much health. (The zombie comes to mind.) I wish I had seen more platforming gimmicks of some description, especially if you weren't going to take advantage of the level's situation with the enemies. There is only one unique ""non-enemy"" gimmick in the stage - towards the end of the level. I really wish it was more than a mere cutscene in practice though.

Other neat features were the opportunities to talk to the NPC's. I kind of wish there were more of them honestly, as the writing isn't half bad. The names are a little nonsensical mind. :V

The boss was... ok. I am rather surprised I never saw him use that sword of his, which he showed off in the intro. Maybe just another attack would've benefited him from being ultimately really forgettable. I'm glad he showed up all the same!

So yeah, great idea. Wonderful attention to detail too. Execution is really average though. Could've done with a bit more of a push to utilize the advantage the concept had.
Trivia
* Bizarrely, the music for the level's final area after defeating Kelbesque isn't grouped with the rest of Mount Sabre's music in the Challenge Tent's sound test, instead appearing as the very last track at the end!
