―Air Man, Make a Good Mega Man Level

The Air Capsule is Air Man in a capsule reminiscent of the recurring Wily Capsule from the main Mega Man series. It appears in Make a Good Mega Man Level as the boss of the Wily stage Everything's Blowing Up. It reappears in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 under the name of Air Capsule II, as both an optional boss in Boil Man and a midboss in Deep Thoughts.

Battle[edit]

Make a Good Mega Man Level[edit]

The Air Capsule starts its pattern by teleporting to the middle of the room, activating the fans on the floor, and shooting four projectiles at the ceiling that linger when they hit it, and eventually fall down. The fans will slowly push Mega Man upwards, and the Air Capsule will slowly float back and forth. The Air Capsule will then randomly choose between one of three attacks, each telegraphed by shooting a spread of sparks in a certain pattern:

  • Create four small tornadoes that fly in Mega Man's direction. They stop four times while doing this, and each time they start moving again, they will move faster than before. If Mega Man's direction has changed, the tornadoes will fly towards his new direction. This is telegraphed by a spread of three sparks that move in a spiral pattern.
  • Fly to the side of the screen and shoot four groups of three small tornadoes that fly toward Mega Man at varying speeds. This is telegraphed by a spread of four sparks shot in each cardinal direction.
  • Fly down to a lower corner of the room, and shoot three propeller cutters while flying around the edges of the room until making it to the other lower corner. When a propeller cutter is perpendicular to Mega Man, it will turn 90 degrees in Mega Man's direction. This is telegraphed by a spread of a four sparks shot in diagonal directions.

After using one of these attacks, the Air Capsule will start its pattern from the beginning.

Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered[edit]

The Air Capsule's pattern is largely unchanged from its original iteration, but a few tweaks have been made to it:

  • When shooting four projectiles at the ceiling, they now gather according to one of six patterns they choose, as opposed to their original random placement.
  • When changing directions, the propeller cutters will pause for a moment, making it easier to dodge them.
  • After every third attack, the Air Capsule will fly to the centre of the arena and fire several lasers identical to those fired by Dachone; first sweeping from left to right, then right to left, and finally three bursts downwards. This is telegraphed by a spread of eight sparks fired in all directions.
  • While using its homing tornado, tornado spread, and laser attacks, the Air Capsule will open up to show Air Man inside.

Make a Good Mega Man Level 2[edit]

The Air Capsule II starts its pattern by shooting four groups of three projectiles that turn 90 degrees in Mega Man's direction when perpendicular to him. The pattern is Blue, Green, Blue, Green, with blue projectiles being shot vertically and green projectiles being shot horizontally. It then flies to the side of the screen and shoots three columns of tornadoes. Each column has a three-block-tall gap that Mega Man must jump through, sometimes high enough that Mega Man must jump on the bubbles rising from the sides of the screen to make it through. After this attack, the Air Capsule II repeats the pattern of three projectiles in four groups, then tosses down four sparks that move to the corners of the screen before flying in Mega Man's direction. The pattern will then start from the beginning.
