Battonton is an enemy from Mega Man 4. It is an upgraded version of Batton.

Battonton was first made available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in the entries Ancient Tomb, Airflow Hubble, MegaLondo, Taco Man, Joe Destruction Co., and Escape Sequence, as well as the Tier X stages Nightwalk Castle and Mario Land, and the Pit of Pits sub-levels "Tower Climbing", "Tselinoyarsk 20XX", and "Wily Sewer Entrance". It later appeared in the Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero stages Lost Valley, Scarlet Temple, Pepsi Zero, and String Theory, and in the Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level entry Outer Excavation.

Battonton returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, and was used in the entries X6Meme, The Cave Level That Exists, Trouble in the Fortress, Creatively Named Level, Lost Caverns of Jungata, Wily's Haunted Castle, and Cursed Darkness. In the same game, it also appeared in the NEO Pit of Pits sublevels "Nightwalk Castle?", "Questionable Quarry", and "Slightly Hot".

Behavior[edit]

Battontons will hang off the ceiling at first, being invulnerable to most attacks until they eventually open up and move towards the location Mega Man was last at, changing the targeted location periodically. Once a Battonton manages to hit him, it will fly upwards, and if it hits a ceiling, it will hide in its wings again.
