Doc Robot K-176, often simply called Doc Robot, is a boss from Mega Man 3. It is a Robot Master built by Dr. Wily capable of wielding various other Robot Master weapons. In its debut game, it uses weapons from the Mega Man 2 Robot Masters.
It appears in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 as the boss of Ruined Lab. The Doc Robot Overloaded is a durable Doc Robot that was left to rot in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, making his appearance in the Abandoned Lab stage where he appears as the boss of Chapter 1.
Battle[edit]
Doc Robot will initially do nothing but walk back and forth around the room. Once Mega Man presses the fire button, it will cycle between different attack patterns, randomly using attacks based on MaGMML2's devkit bosses depending on the pattern it's using. Both patterns involve walking back and forth, and jumping when the fire button is pressed.
With the first attack pattern, Doc Robot will jump higher and attack when the fire button is pressed. The possible attacks Doc Robot will use in this pattern include the following:
- A Metal Blade aimed towards Mega Man (Metal Man).
- A Crash Bomb aimed towards the ground (Crash Man).
- A Laser Trident projectile aimed straight down (Splash Woman).
- A spread of three small ring-shaped projectiles (Komuso Man).
With the second attack pattern, Doc Robot will only perform short jumps when the fire button is pressed, and will attack on the ground. The possible attacks Doc Robot will use in this pattern include the following:
- A Rolling Cutter that moves a short distance forward before returning to Doc Robot (Cut Man).
- A Gemini Laser that bounces along surfaces 5 times (Gemini Man).
- A small projectile that splits into 9 projectiles upon hitting a wall (Centaur Man).
Doc Robot may follow up an attack from either pattern by summoning Plant Barrier, jumping forwards, firing the barrier forwards, then running to Mega Man's position (Plant Man). The barrier does not actually deal damage, however.
