"What?!? You fool! How dare you attack the mighty Dr. Wily!"
―Dr. Wily, Mega Man V

Doctor Albert W. Wily (Dr.アルバート・W・ワイリー Dokutā Arubāto W Wairī) is the main antagonist of the original Mega Man series, appearing in every game as the antagonist but not necessarily always as the final boss. In the Mega Man series, Wily resembles a stereotypical mad scientist as he schemes to take over the world, creating several robots to help him. Though Wily's schemes are stopped time and time again, he refuses to give in. The MaGMML series in particular chronicles his plans to take over the world with the resurgence of Energy Elements and the rise of simulation technology.

As the main antagonist of the Mega Man series, Dr. Wily has appeared in nearly every single MaGMML game to date, with one exception.

MaGMML Series Appearances[edit]

Make a Good Mega Man Level (Remastered)[edit]

As usual, Dr. Wily appears as the main antagonist of the first game. He first appears in the intro cutscene announcing his intention to take over the festival, and he swarms it with his robots and scatters the Energy Elements. Dr. Light discovers a barrier around Wily's newest castle that requires 24 Energy Elements to break. Wily isn't mentioned again until these Elements are recovered, when Dr. Light tells Mega Man that Wily burst into the lab and installed a teleporter to his castle1/a space elevator right outside the lab1R, inviting Mega Man to his fortress. Once Mega Man fights his way to the end, Wily ambushes Mega Man and steals the Energy Elements, using them to power Wily Machine TROPHY in a final battle. Wily is, as usual, defeated, but sics a decoy robot on Mega Man to ensure his escape. He is not seen again.

Make a Good Mega Man Level 2[edit]

Dr. Wily once again serves as the main antagonist of the game, this time appearing only after Mega Man has obtained 65 Energy Elements. Once he does, Wily reveals his newest fortress, the Wily Star II, and his new weapon, the Reality Cannon, which can warp reality. Once again, Dr. Wily dares Mega Man to get to his fortress, and with the help of Dr. Light, the cloaked figure, and the Energy Elements, Mega Man hops in a spaceship to chase after Wily.

Once Wily is finally cornered, he activates the Reality Core, and the real world is mixed up with the simulations, creating a giant maze that Mega Man fights through. Wily is once again cornered after Mega Man destroys the five cores in the maze, and he fights Mega Man in Wily Machine SWORD. When this plan fails, he warps himself and Mega Man to a pocket dimension, where he then attempts to summon an evil version of Mega Man from another dimension, only to summon megaman sprite game. Having taken offense to being yelled at by Wily, megaman sprite game knocks him away and fights Mega Man, giving Wily time to collapse the pocket dimension and start a getaway in his escape pod, but Mega Man catches up to him with the help of the Energy Elements. Wily is then defeated, and in a fit of rage, he knocks Mega Man away as his machine explodes with him still inside it.

Despite his escape pod exploding, he miraculously reappears inside the Dojo in the postgame, offering up simulations of the Wily Star II levels and claiming to be going into the entertainment business. He allows Mega Man to use the simulations for free as long as he doesn't call the police on him. Wily stays in the Dojo for the rest of the game.

Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level[edit]

Dr. Wily, or at least a simulated version of him, is present in Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level as the main antagonist. However, he isn't seen or mentioned until the final Wily stage, where he once again serves as the final boss of the game by piloting Wily Machine Arc. After his defeat, the game abruptly ends.

Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero[edit]

For the first time in a MaGMML game, Dr. Wily is not the main antagonist, but in fact, an ally. Zero first runs into Wily two weeks after the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, while the latter is surveying the canyon the Wily Castle crashed in. Surprised that Zero survived, Wily gives him the Z-Saber and Z-Burst weapons, then directs him to his secret bunker, where he has been developing the Reality Core. When Zero arrives, Wily tasks Zero with gathering Energy Elements to help his research, fixes the robot's teleport system, and supplies him with the Z-Phone.

After Zero gathers a number of Energy Elements, Dr. Wily becomes frustrated with the many faults he's discovered with the Reality Core, and leaves the bunker to go on an "evil vacation". Some time later, he abruptly returns to the bunker and locks himself inside his workshop with the Reality Core, maniacally resuming his work while driving all his robots out, including Zero. After the latter abandons him in disgust, he vanishes from the rest of the game, save for a brief scene during the credits. Once the game is beaten, Dr. Wily can be talked to inside the bunker again; however, this is purely for gameplay purposes, and is non-canon.

Dr. Wily can be called on the Z-Phone while in a level; when called, he will give some background information on the current stage, almost always with some sarcasm. Once Zero abandons Wily towards the end of Chapter 2, all of Wily's calls become unavailable, and contacting him only gives static. After beating the game, however, Wily can be called like normal, allowing the player to see his calls for S.R.A.R.A. HQ and Chapter 3's levels.
