The Fire Block is a gimmick originating from the original Mega Man, appearing in Fire Man's stage. It is a block that periodically emits a stream of fire to the side.
Fire Blocks were first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, and saw use in the entry Maze of Death.
Fire Blocks made a return in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, and were used in the entries Volcanic Furnace and Conveyor Mayhem. They were also used in the Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level entry X Factory, which was carried over to the Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 Judge Application Levels.
Behaviour[edit]
Fire Blocks shoot a stream of fire to one side at frequent intervals. Which side the fire will come out of is indicated by a small flame that flickers when the stream isn't active. With the release of the Megamix Engine, a variant of the Fire Block that can be rotated (aptly named "objFireBlockRotatable") is present; this can allow for vertical or diagonal fire streams. Rainy weather from a Tel Tel is capable of neutralizing Fire Blocks.
Both Fire Block variants have the following customizable variables:
- delay - The initial delay before firing when first spawned
- zapLength - How long the fire is active for (by default it is set to 60)
- waitLength - How long the block waits after a fire stream before creating another one (by default it is set to 60)
