Goblins n' Ghasts is a Tier X level in Make A Good Mega Man Level 2, created by ACESpark. It is a horror-themed level with several custom enemies, as well as a wind gimmick, and falling guillotines that function similarly to Presses.
Strategy[edit]
The first room of the level is a long stretch of land with several Zomburgs, Wheel Zombies, GNG Shield Attackers, Skullmets, and Skull Walkers scattered throughout. The room has five Key Coins which can be used to unlock a Key Barrier at the end of the room that is blocking the first Noble Nickel. In order, the Key Coins are located above the first Skullmet, to the left of a raised area with the first Blade, to the right of the second Blade, under the third Blade, and on a thin pillar between two wooden platforms. After this room (and a short, empty room right below it) is a battle against Skullder. Once Skullder is defeated, Mega Man must use a teleporter to reach the second segment of the level.
The second segment of the level starts with another long stretch of land that utilizes many of the same enemies seen in the first room, with the addition of Grave Mets. Blades are also a more dangerous obstacle in this area, with the second Noble Nickel being kept in a small crevice that can't be reached without carefully sliding under a Blade. Falling Platforms also appear near the end of this room, with the third Noble Nickel being right over a pair of spikes that must be obtained by falling down with the platforms (or by using a utility). The following room has a permanent wind gimmick to watch out for, as well as several small blue tornadoes. Some tornadoes will swerve up or down while moving, and others will transform into Kamaitachi. The room after this uses the same wind gimmick in conjunction with enemies from the previous rooms, as well as long jumps over spike pits. Past this room (and an empty corridor) is a battle against Skullder's Revenge. Defeating Skullder's Revenge and going right leads to another teleporter, which takes Mega Man to the next segment of the level.
The level's third segment combines the obstacles from the previous rooms in various ways. The first room of the segment is a short path with Zomburgs, Skullmets, and a Skull Walker, made more difficult to defeat because of Reflect Blocks scattered throughout the area. The room after this is short, but includes several Blades that are difficult to avoid, not helped by a few Grave Mets present in the area. Going up the ladder leads to a single-screen room utilizing the wind gimmick for an upwards climb very close to spiked walls, with a Skull Walker and a Skullmet complicating things even more (though a large health capsule is present in the same room, which will help Mega Man if he isn't in good shape). Above this room is another windy area, with a variety of enemies blocking the path, as well as Falling Platforms at the end of the room. The start of the room has a single Blade; to the right of the Blade is the final Noble Nickel.
After the windy room is a small room with a single Reflect Block and a GNG Shield Attacker as the only things getting in the way of another teleporter. This teleporter doesn't lead to another full segment of the level; rather, it leads to a corridor and the battle against Excalibur Man.
Trivia[edit]
- The level's name is a reference to the Capcom series Ghosts n' Goblins. As additional references to the series, both tracks used in the level originate from Ghosts n' Goblins games, and the boss, Excalibur Man, is based on Arthur, the main protagonist of the series.
