"A platform from Pharaoh Man's stage. It will float there and occasionally shoot two bullets to the left and right, until it is stepped on, when it will then fall down and start travelling in the set direction."
―Note in Hover's code, Megamix Engine

Hover is a gimmick from Mega Man 4, found in Pharaoh Man's stage. It is a hovercraft robot used for travelling over rivers and seas.

Hover was first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, but went completely unused in the final game.

Hover returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, and was used in the entries Cardinal Man, Ancient Tomb, and A Mega Man for All Seasons. It also appeared in the Wily stage Reality Core, and the Tier X stage Swiss Hotel.

Behavior

Hovers sleep idly in place, occasionally waking up to fire two projectiles out from either side of its head before falling asleep again. If Mega Man steps down on the large button on its head, it will remain permanently awake and travel forwards in one direction. While moving, it obeys gravity, and will only move forwards as long as solid ground is under it. If it touches a wall, it will be destroyed.

The speed at which a Hover travels can be modified with creation code by changing the value of the "travelSpeed" variable. Setting this to a negative number will make the Hover travel to the left (as opposed to the right, which it does by default).
