Hunter Type A is a boss from Mega Man IV, appearing partway through the Wily Battleship. It is one of two Hunter robots fought in the stage, both being modified from Octopus Batteries. This Hunter variant attacks by rebounding off of surfaces, and creates slower, weaker copies of itself when damaged.
Hunter Type A is one of the devkit bosses present in the Megamix Engine, and was available for use in all games made with the engine. Its MaGMML debut was in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level, where it appeared in the entries GraviMan INC. and Asinine Factory. It made further appearances in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, appearing in the entries Hunter Tower, Fairly Unfocused Newcomer's Bosses And Gimmicks Stage, Technical Support, and Nowhere yet everywhere: When the world may loop as a boss, and in Tier 4 as an NPC.

Battle[edit]
Hunter Type A will bounce along the edges of the room. When it takes damage, it will create three copies of itself before it continues moving. If two copies are on-screen when the real Hunter takes damage, it will not create more copies, but if only one copy is on-screen when the real Hunter takes damage, the remaining copy will be destroyed and the Hunter will create three new copies. Hunter Type A will gradually get faster as it takes more damage.

Trivia[edit]
- Hunter Type A's suffix was invented for the Megamix Engine, as a way of distinguishing the two kinds of Hunter seen in Mega Man IV (officially, both variants share the same name and presumably the same colour scheme).
