|Mega Man with the Jewel Satellite equipped.|
The Jewel Satellite (ジュエルサテライト Jueru Sateraito) is Jewel Man's Special Weapon from Mega Man 9. When activated, it summons four jewels that orbit the user. When the shield is up, it can be launched as a projectile toward enemies. Like most other shield weapons, the user can move while using the Jewel Satellite. Despite only inflicting two points of damage, it can destroy multiple enemies with only one or two points of health left without destroying it. It also reflects or destroys most of the game's enemy projectiles. Since the weapon's energy only depletes each time it is activated, it is possible to keep it up during a whole section of a level, and it will not disappear unless the player transitions to a new set of screens or touches a tough or invulnerable enemy.
Make a Good Mega Man Level 2
The Jewel Satellite is one of the weapons voted to appear in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, receiving the most votes in the Shield category. Unlike in Mega Man 9, the weapon can only be fired in the direction Mega Man is currently facing, with vertical firing absent.
Due to the Jewel Satellite having a fixed rate of fire, Super Mode's interaction with the weapon is different than other weapons. Instead of gaining an increased fire rate, it instead spawns three more jewels and no longer disappears upon hitting a tough/invulnerable enemy. When launched as a projectile, it moves much faster. The seven jewels are all different colours, and lastly, activating the Jewel Satellite with Super Mode enabled will turn Mega Man a flashing gold colour until he switches to another weapon.
- For Metal Man, the Jewel Satellite can reflect his Metal Blades back at him, dealing 28 damage (unless the Karrot Man skin is used).
Values with a forward slash (x/x) indicate different values between two phases of a boss.
Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level
The Jewel Satellite appears as an alternate weapon in Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level, unlocked after completing the game once. It functions identically to its appearance in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2.
The Jewel Satellite, unchanged from its Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 iteration, is present in the Megamix Engine. In it, it deals 3 points of damage to enemies in the "Cluster" category, and 1 point of damage to all other enemies.
- The Jewel Satellite's interaction with Super Mode is a reference to the Sonic the Hedgehog series' Chaos Emeralds, the ability to transform into Super Sonic once all seven are collected, and Super Sonic's ability to destroy all foes on contact.
