"An enemy from Tornado Man's stage. Will slowly float down, and will get pushed by wind objects. Has a spawner under the Spawners tab."
―Note in Nombrellan's code, Megamix Engine

Nombrellan is an enemy from Mega Man 9. It is an umbrella-shaped robot that floats along with the wind.

Nombrellan was first made available with the Megamix Engine, and subsequently the devkits for all games using it. The first game to use it was Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, where it appeared in Vertical Vine Venture. It went on to appear in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level, in the Box Cartel stage Pandora's Parlor; and in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, in the entry The Return of Veteran Z and the NEO Pit of Pits sublevels "Nombrellan Corporation Infiltration" and "Rain and Stompy".

Behavior

Nombrellan slowly floats downwards, but will drift left or right depending on the direction of certain wind-based gimmicks; these being Wind, Toad Rain, and Tengu Wind. The speed at which it drifts depends on the strength of the relevant gimmick in question.

Nombrellans have a dedicated spawner object, which can be modified via creation code to raise or lower the time it takes for them to spawn a Nombrellan.

Notes

  • As of the latest public version of the Megamix Engine, a typo in Nombrellan's code results in it crashing the game if used alongside Sandstorms.
