Tatebo is an enemy from Mega Man 6. It is a shielded cannon developed as an improved Tatepakkan.

Tatebo was first made available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in Chomp Man, Enhanced Mobility, But It Lacked the Depth to Convince Me That This is Really Hell, Bouncy Castle, Donut Observation Center, Rad Gravity, and Beneath Sand and Rock. It also appeared in the Wily stage Unobtainium Mine, the Pit of Pits sublevel "Night of Semiramis", and in Null and Void. It also appeared in Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered as a brand new enemy in the Wily stage Be the Bigger Person.

Tatebo briefly returned in the Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level entry Cornerstone to Dominate, but would become more prominent in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3. There, it appeared in the entries Ballade's Square of Doom, Stolen Citadel, Military Training Grounds, House of Fun, Chaos Light City, Y.M.C.A., and The King's Lair; and in the NEO Pit of Pits sublevels "Bouncy Castle?", "Chilly and Tubed", "Conveyor the Message", "Flopside Pit", "Hazardous Locomotion", and "Slightly Hot".

Behavior

Tatebos sit in place, attacking by first lobbing an arcing projectile at Mega Man, then lifting their shield up to fire a slow straight shot before repeating the process. While their shield is down, they cannot be harmed from the front by non-piercing weapons.
