Yamato Man on the Z-Phone, Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero

Trailing Zero is a gimmick from Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, found in Gannio's room on Floor 7 of Null and Void. It is a shadowy purple copy of Zero that follows him and mimics his every move. Though normally spawned in massive numbers, a single Trailing Zero is also fought as a boss.

Behavior[edit]

Trailing Zeros continuously spawn from a small teleporter. Once spawned, it will chase after Zero and perfectly repeat every action he does since the first copy spawned. Notably, it will ignore gravity unless relevant to Zero's previous actions: for instance, if he had jumped on a temporary platform, even if the platform no longer exists, every Trailing Zero will act as if it was still there. Likewise, if Zero reverses his own gravity, they won't reverse theirs until reaching the point where he did so.

While Trailing Zeros will stop to attack if Zero himself ever does, they cannot actually use any of his weapons. Their only means of damage comes from contact damage, which will drain Zero's health as long as a Trailing Zero touches him. With the exception of the boss version, Trailing Zeros are completely invincible and unstoppable. The appearance of Trailing Zeros will change depending on what costume is currently in use.

Trivia[edit]

  • The concept of Trailing Zero is based on the Cosmic Clones from Super Mario Galaxy 2, another set of infinitely spawning shadowy duplicates that copy every move the player makes.
