The '''Frost Sled''' is a gimmick from ''[[Mega Man 8]]'', found in Frost Man's stage. It is a rocket-propelled sled that allows a rider to quickly traverse long distances.

Frost Sleds were first made available in the devkit for ''[[Make a Good Mega Man Level 2]]'', and was used in the entries [[Shovel Knight]], [[Enhanced Mobility]], [[Cursor Curse]], and [[But It Lacked the Depth to Convince Me That This is Really Hell]], as well as in [[Null and Void]].

==Behavior==
When [[Mega Man]] jumps on a Frost Sled, he will start riding it in the direction it faces. While on the sled, he will always move forward at a certain speed, but he retains his ability to jump, slide, and use Special Weapons. A Frost Sled can have its speed altered by passing a speed trigger object (which, depending on its creation code settings, can either make it faster or slower), and by hitting a stopper object, the sled will stop and Mega Man will have his normal mobility restored.

By default, a Frost Sled's maximum speed is set to 3, but this number can be raised or lowered by changing the "maxSpeed" variable in its creation code. Another variable by the same name exists in a Frost Sled speed trigger object, and setting its value likewise affects the maximum speed a Frost Sled has once one passes by it.
