The '''Skull Elevator''' is a gimmick from ''[[Mega Man 8]]'', found in the opening stage on [[Doctor Albert W. Wily|Dr. Wily]]'s secret island. It is an elevator shaped like a skull that hides underground until revealed by a switch.

Skull Elevators were first made available with the [[Megamix Engine]], and subsequently the devkits for ''[[Make a Good Mega Man Level 3]]'' and ''[[Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level]]''.

==Behavior==
Skull Elevators initially hide underground, but will rise up when a switch matching their myFlag variable is activated. Once active, [[Mega Man]] can enter them to arrive elsewhere in the stage (with his entrance animation depicting him leaving a rising elevator). As Skull Elevators are partially solid, they can also be used as platforms.

Skull Elevators have four creation code variables, two of which must be set for the object to work:

* X - The x coordinate for the Skull Elevator's destination.
* Y - The y coordinate for the Skull Elevator's destination.
* myRoom - The room file for the Skull Elevator's destination (by default, it is set to the room the Skull Elevator is placed in).
* exitType - The animation the Skull Elevator uses once Mega Man enters (0 (default) does nothing, 1 makes it sink into the ground, 2 makes it rise to the top of the screen via a metal pillar).
