Galaxy Man is a boss from Mega Man 9. Originally designed by Dr. Light to work in a space research center and calculate trajectories for rockets, he was tricked into working for Dr. Wily after being offered help from him in wake of his expiration date having passed.

While he has a small appearance in the original Make a Good Mega Man Level as an NPC in Dr. Light's Lab, he has a much more notable appearance in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2. There, he first appears as the shopkeeper in the Pit of Pits. After clearing all of the rooms in the Pit, he is then fought as a superboss.

Battle[edit]

...This looks like trouble.

Galaxy Man's battle takes place in space, where Mega Man has free movement vertically and horizontally. Galaxy Man has a large, extremely projectile-heavy pattern, teleporting to a different location after each attack:

  • Shoot a stream of small projectiles at Mega Man.
  • Fly back and forth at the top of the screen, shooting mint-colored energy balls upwards and downwards that shoot small projectiles at Mega Man when perpendicular to him.
  • Create a purple black hole that shoots spreads of three small projectiles, and fly up and down at the side of the screen.
  • Create a star that bounces along the bottom of the screen, shooting small projectiles at Mega Man.
  • Create a copy of himself across from his current position. The copy creates purple energy balls that shoot small projectiles at Mega Man, then fly at him themselves.
  • Summon a group of rockets from Launch Man & Shuttle Man. Galaxy Man is not on-screen during this attack.
  • Summon Black Holes from NEON GRAVITY and bounce along the bottom of the screen.
  • Shoot four rapid streams of small projectiles while rotating their trajectories counterclockwise.
  • Shoot a stream of red energy balls that bounce off the sides of the screen. While this happens, Galaxy Man will slowly float to the other side of the screen while shooting a spread of sparks in multiple directions.
  • Shoot cyan energy balls that swerve while moving, and wrap around the screen.
  • Shoot four huge groups of red ball projectiles in a circular spread.
  • Summon another group of rockets.
  • Create four gray rings that circle around Galaxy Man while he slowly chases Mega Man. Galaxy Man will then create a stream of pink energy balls. One of them will shoot giant streams of more pink energy balls at Mega Man, while the other will shoot homing purple energy balls.
  • Shoot four groups of two rapid streams all at once, which move in a counterclockwise direction. Galaxy Man will also shoot a single red bouncing energy ball during this attack.
  • Fly up and down while shooting screen-wrapping cyan energy balls.
  • Summon another group of rockets.

When Galaxy Man is down to his final health point, he will become invincible and use two last attacks:

  • Shoot four more groups of two rapid streams projectiles, with the distance between streams in a group now being bigger. The stream will move counterclockwise.
  • Summon 4 blue black holes that circle around Galaxy Man, then shoot streams of small projectiles a circular spread, forcing Mega Man to follow the black holes to avoid damage.

After Galaxy Man uses these attacks, the battle will end.

The boss is completely immune to all Alter Weapons.

Trivia[edit]

  • Galaxy Man is the only boss in MaGMML2 with a horizontal health bar.
  • Galaxy Man's presence in the Pit of Pits is a reference to the fact that his theme was the default stage theme for MaGMML2 entries, and could be heard in Snow Man, Mix & Match, Dragon Lab Lair, and Alien Temple, among other places.
  • Notably, Galaxy Man is the only hub NPC from the original Make a Good Mega Man Level game to be completely absent in Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered.
