Mega Man, known more commonly as Mega Man 1, is the first game in the classic Mega Man series and the franchise overall. The game launched the franchise by introducing everyone's sweet little blue boy Mega Man and the gameplay that everyone has come to know and love. The cast of Robot Masters from the game is only rivalled by Mega Man 2 in recognizability and popularity, and several recurring concepts originated in this game, such as Devil bosses, the Copy Robot, and boss refights. The game is fairly barebones in plot, only featuring the origin story of Dr. Wily's jealousy towards Dr. Light and theft of his six Robot Masters, leaving Rock and Roll alone as they were housekeeping robots. Rock volunteers to be converted into a fighting robot to help save the world, Dr. Light converts him to Mega Man, and the rest is history.
Representation in MaGMML[edit]
Being an early and simple game, Mega Man 1 has gotten consistent representation in all MaGMML games so far. All of the enemies from the game have been included in every devkit, along with almost every gimmick.
