Mad Grinder is a midboss from Mega Man 7. It is a giant road roller robot.
Mad Grinder is included in the Megamix Engine, and is planned to appear as a devkit midboss in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level. It first appeared in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero as the midboss of the stage Metropolitan Neapolitan.
In MaG48HMML, a friendly Mad Grinder can be found in a cabin on the SS Elroy. Having decided to stock up on E-Tanks and W-Tanks (since the ship itself does not have a shop), it will provide the player with free tanks that are contained in a destructible box, with more tanks being provided the more Energy Elements the player has obtained. If the player's number of tanks is equal to or greater than the amount Mad Grinder thinks they should have, the box will contain nothing. A more malicious Mad Grinder also appears as the midboss of Big Fish's second ministage in Pandora's Parlor.
Behavior[edit]
Mad Grinder will start the battle by rolling forward. When it makes contact with a surface, it will perform one of two attacks:
- Fire a spinning blade from its head that rolls along the ground. When the blade hits a wall, it will bounce off and land back on Mad Grinder's head.
- Fire four fireballs from its mouth, one at a time. Each consecutive fireball is at a lower angle than the previous.
After performing one of these attacks, Mad Grinder will back up. When it reaches another surface, it will jump up in the air, creating a quake that shakes Mega Man briefly. It will then use its spinning blade attack, after which it repeats its pattern.
If Mad Grinder is given the creation code value "variant = 1", it will not use its fireball attack.

- Mad Grinder's fireball attack was not used in Mega Man 7 (though a similar fire attack is used by it in the game's intro); rather, it originates from the arcade game Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters.
