Make a Good Mega Man Level 2

So, did you mean "Co. that destroys Joes", or "Co. of Joes that destroy"? Because I don't see either.

Joe Destruction Co. is the 57th place level in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2. It is a construction-themed level with Drill Boulders serving as a major obstacle. Despite the name, Sniper Joes do not play a major part in the level. While one variant, Hammer Joe, does appear, it's as an infrequent enemy that is completely absent from the second half of the stage.

Strategy[edit]

The level starts with a careful jump over a pit while avoiding the bent pipes from a Scworm, with a Blocky and a Hammer Joe blocking the room's exit. The next room starts with Reflect Blocks and Count Bombs blocking off a path, as well as a Picket Man, forcing Mega Man to dodge the Picket Man's pickaxes while waiting for the Count Bombs to explode, after which he can proceed past two Concrete Platforms and a Peterchy. At the start of the next room above a New Shotman is a ladder. Climbing this ladder simply leads to text written in tiles that credit the stage's composer. On top of that, going down will result in Mega Man getting hit by the New Shotman unless he slowly climbs down and raises Jewel Satellite as he returns to the lower room.

Heading to the right instead, Mega Man will face a single Big Eye, as well as a Concrete Platform that takes him to the next room. In said room, he can choose two paths: a lower path with a Battonton, a Pickelman Bull, and two Drill Boulder spawners, or an upper path that must be crossed using Sakugarne, Rush Jet, or Super Arrow, but has an E-Tank and only a single Battonton. The paths merge to an area requiring jumps across large gaps, with a New Shotman and Hammer Joe complicating things further. After this is a room with several Garyobies, Jet Butons, and spikes, followed by an empty room serving as the level's checkpoint.

Heading to the right of the checkpoint, Mega Man faces two Metalls, a Drill Boulder spawner, and a Picket Man all blocking the exit. Dropping down leads to a cave area with several Drill Boulder spawners, as well as both Pickelman variants, Up'n'Downs, and a Rock Thrown. After going through another room with a cluster of Drill Boulder spawners, some spike pits to jump over, some Pickelman Bulls and a Picketman to avoid, and a Big Eye at the end, Mega Man can head through a boss gate into an empty room with an E-Tank at the top left. The E-Tank can be obtained either by taking the second, higher boss gate in the previous room, or by using a utility to reach it in the room it's located in. Going through another boss gate leads to a drop down a pit, with the Energy Element at the bottom.

It's an okay level, and that's really the 'problem' with it (though I don't think it's entirely appropriate to call it a 'problem'). It's just a kind of there level. I like the setup at the beginning with the reflector blocks and the Picket Man, and there's some good usage of the Concrete Man platforms, but by the end the level just kinda drops off and becomes Drill Man mark 2. It kinda made me sad how it dropped off because the first part was pretty good but the Drill Man section is incredibly meh and not as well designed, and has unironic use of Up N' Downs (they are marked, but I don't think very many people will notice the tell) It's kinda sad honestly because I was expecting some JOE DESTROYING ACTION!! based on the level name but then in the end it just ended up being a construction-y level with like half a dozen Hammer Joes and no other Joe family enemies.

My main issue with this level is the random screen with credits to the person who made the music that were written in blocks. First of all, you could have easily used a sign, and second, the ladder exiting that room drops you right onto an enemy that's nearly impossible to dodge. Also, the lack of a boss was pretty disappointing. You should have used Guts Man, he would have fit into the "destruction" theme of the level nicely. The rest of the level was easy and forgettable.

This level has interesting ideas, but they're often put in such a way where the player is incredibly likely to take unavoidable (or hardly avoidable) damage. Some objects didn't feel very calculated in their placement, either, with bugs just zooming by and rock dispensers being very close to the ground, making me not wanna go through the stage with only the buster. I like how the level progresses underground, though. It's a neat change of pace. But even that has its little downside as I found a shortcut into the underground sections that skips about 2 screens of the level [FIXED POST JUDGING]. The "hidden" music room, which used to be funny when the stage lacked music, is something many players will find on accident, as one of the up moving platforms will crush the player into the bottom of the music room, complete with screen transition and all. Overall... neat ideas but they're a bit chaotic.

Oh god not again. Enemy choice and placement is awful. Stage layout is empty and bad. It's genuinely frustrating. It's not very fun. Really poor. Meh. Has quite a bit of bugs.

I don't even know what to say. The level design is AWFUL: enemy choice and placement is disgusting, and the level is just frustrating overall. It doesn't even try to do anything interesting, the graphics are average, and there are quite a bit of bugs and oversights in this stage. It sucks.

The version I played lacked any music whatsoever and that... makes this level even more boring than it actually is. When I went back to play it with the music, it wasn't exactly helped. Your name implies something that never happens. Shame. So what does this level accomplish? Er, not a whole lot.

Props will be given - nothing was used badly, you had a mix of gimmicks, but again, the challenges are very basic. Enemies were also selected without much forethought it seems. One notable highlight - the Picket Man towards the start of the stage: I really thought that bit was clever, and had you built your stage around that sort of thing, maybe you could've pulled something memorable off. As it stands, this level simply exists. At least you put in some platforming, so that makes things a little more tolerable.

Oh, and lovely, boss corridor - no boss - no climax, nothing. Sigh. I mean you even put an E-Tank before said corridor. What the hell?
