- ""Sorry, I'm absent, because someone decided to destroy my havoc-wreaking code and reprogram me for children. Dr. Light! To compensate for this, I've left you a Metal Man instead."
- ―Candy Man, in Candy Panic.
Metal Man is a combat robot that first appeared in Mega Man 2 for the NES, then later in Mega Man II for the Gameboy. He is notable for his useful weapon, as well as being able to be two-hit killed by his own weapon (one hit on Normal Mode.) This is retained in his MaGMML2 incarnation, with his weakness being the similar Wheel Cutter and his own reflected Metal Blades.
Metal Man appears in two levels in the game, Candy Panic where he appears as a boss, and Quint Stage where he appears as a mid-boss. He also appears as an NPC in front of the entrance to the Tier 1 hub.
Battle
When the battle begins, Metal Man will appear to be running on the spot, most likely because his original incarnation was fought on conveyor belts and not plain ground. If you keep enough distance from him, he will either;
- Jump very high and throw three Metal Blades at you one after another.
- Jump decently high and throw two Metal Blades at you one after another.
- Jump very low and throw a single Metal Blade at you.
Upon crossing about half the distance between you and him, he will jump away to the other side of the screen, and throw down a Metal Blade at you from the peak of his jump.
This can be used to effectively lock him into jumping around by rapidly running back and forth through the arena.
