- "An alarm clock bomb that walks in one direction and jumps when changing numbers (can count down from 9). It explodes when time runs out, but can be pushed away with the Mega Buster."
- ―Note in Alabell's code, Megamix Engine
Alabell is an enemy from Mega Man V. It is a walking, nigh-indestructible alarm clock robot that counts down from a number, detonating a powerful explosive at the countdown's end.
Alabell was first made available via the release of the Megamix Engine, and will make its debut in the devkits for Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level.
Behavior
Alabell walks from left to right and vice versa, using Mega Man's position as a starting point. Every two seconds, it jumps into the air, allowing Mega Man to move under it. While moving, the number on Alabell's screen decreases by one every second, before exploding when it would reach zero. This explosion is capable of dealing damage to enemies and similar destructible hazards. No conventional weapons can damage Alabell; instead, it merely pushes them backwards by a few blocks.
The number Alabell starts off at ranges from 1 to 9; by default, it starts at 3, but it can be raised or lowered by setting "time = #" in creation code.
Notes
- Alabell isn't a conventional enemy in Mega Man V; instead, it and Pikashu were spawned by Dr. Wily's Brain Crusher machine as attacks. Alabells (and knowing when to shoot them towards the Brain Crusher) were key to defeating the boss, as only their explosions could damage it.
