The Pacifist Door is a gimmick appearing in the original Make a Good Mega Man Level and its remake. It is a barrier that appears whenever an enemy is killed, often blocking the way forward. It only appears in the Wily stage Be the Bigger Person; in the remade iteration of the stage in Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered, the gimmick has been split into two variants; one internally named Heart Door, and an inverted version named Broken Heart Door, though the original graphics are still used in the Old Style version of the stage.
In Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, the gimmick made an unexpected return in the Pit of Pits sublevel "Be the Bigger Person?", homaging the level they were originally used in.
Behavior
Pacifist Doors are initially invisible and intangible, but will appear as soon as Mega Man kills an enemy in the current section. This can cause safer routes to be blocked off, or the path forward made more dangerous.
In Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered, Heart Doors have a red outline that indicates where it will appear if an enemy is killed. Broken Heart Doors, by contrast, are already active when Mega Man enters a section, but will disappear when he kills an enemy, leaving a blue outline marking where they used to be. Both versions come in two different sizes.
Notes
- Pacifist Doors are the only custom object to make an appearance in the Pit of Pits in MaGMML2, rather than being done with arbitrary code execution.
