- "HURRY UP!"
- ―Wario, telling you to run for your life (and wallet)
The Frog Switch is a gimmick hailing from Wario Land 4. It is a switch in a blue frog statue that, when activated, turns special blocks (non) corporeal while triggering a countdown, forcing the one who pressed it to escape the level.
The Frog Switch makes an appearance in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, where it appears in the level Defeat the Giant Spear Man! with an identical functionality to its Wario Land 4 appearance. It also makes a return appearance in Null and Void, with slightly different behaviour.
Behavior
A Frog Switch is turned on by jumping onto it, at which point it reveals a time bomb and triggers a countdown displayed on the top of the screen. If the countdown reaches 0:00, Zero will instantly die, regardless of his current status. The Frog Switch also toggles Switch Blocks (resprited as Kaeru Blocks from Wario Land 4), turning previously non-solid blocks solid and vice versa. Once a Frog Switch is turned on, there is no way to turn it off.
In Defeat the Giant Spear Man!, the countdown is 4 minutes and 30 seconds long, and pressing the switch causes the music to change. In Null and Void, however, the countdown is 1 minute and 20 seconds, and the music does not change.
Notes
- The Frog Switch's countdown does not instantly kill the player in Wario Land 4; rather, it causes them to slowly lose all their coins before kicking them out of the level if they still haven't left.
