The Foot Holder is a gimmick found in the original Mega Man. It is a platform with eyes that flies around on a propeller.
Foot Holders were added as a gimmick in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where they appear in the entry Volcanic Furnace. A variant known as the Guided Foot Holder appears in The Stage Nobody Asked For.
Behavior
By default, Foot Holders will move back and forth while also moving up and down almost randomly.
Creation code can be used to modify several attributes of Foot Holders:
- How it moves (if set to mode = 1, it will decide movement based on the FootholderGuide object).
- Whether or not it will periodically shoot bullets from its sides.
- How fast it moves (only applicable if mode = 1 is applied).
- Whether its targeting will be random if repeated or if it will always pick the nearest target (also only applicable if mode = 1 is applied).
