The X Platform is a gimmick from Mega Man 6, found in the third stage of Mr. X's Castle. It is a small platform that slowly drops while carrying a load, causing a nearby platform to rise up simultaneously.
X Platforms were first made available in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, but no entries used them. They were, however, used in the Tier X stage Swiss Hotel, and in Null and Void, as well as the Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level entry X Factory (and its subsequent port into the Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 Judge Application Levels).
Behavior
When Mega Man jumps on an X Platform, it will slowly drop down until it hits either an invisible stopper object, or solid ground. If it has a partner X Platform, the parter will similarly move, only upwards. If another X Platform exists close enough to one, it will become a designated partner, but by changing the values of "manualPartnerX" and "manualPartnerY" in an X Platform's creation code, a user can create a partner anywhere in the level without needing to put one down in the editor.
