The level pack's sparsely populated hub world

The MaGMML3 Judge Application Levels are a small set of levels that were publicly distributed for the purpose of testing prospective judges for Make a Good Mega Man Level 3. Prospective judges were asked to play through the levels and judge them as if they were contest entries, assigning a score based on quality, selecting a favorite and least favorite, selecting which levels (if any) should be skippable and why, and—new to the MaGMML3 rubric—assign a difficulty rating to them that has no impact on score. Given this purpose, many of its levels, rather than being legitimate attempts to design good levels, were deliberately designed to be flawed in some way.

The "game" contains a fairly bare-bones hub world containing the author avatars of ACESpark (Davwin Armanios) and Mick Galbani (a pineapple), who offered advice to prospective judges when spoken to; two E-Tanks and one M-Tank, for judges to use if they found a level too difficult to get through without; and teleporters, to access the levels. The basic weapon roster from Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 is available to the player.

The "game" was released, and the submission period for judge applications was opened, on November 6th, 2017, and the submission period was closed on November 22nd, 2017. Of the nineteen people who submitted judge applications, eleven were accepted.

Trivia

• The collectible item that stands in for Noble Nickels in this level pack has no official name.
• Upon collecting all the Energy Elements and collectibles, an additional teleporter appears in the center of the hub area that takes the player to the level pack's music credits.
• Two of the levels here, specifically Space Crusade and Magnum Man, as well as Just a Judge Level, a level Pachy made for the second part of the MaGMML3 Judge Application process, were reused in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 as bonus levels.
