The Fuse Platform is a gimmick in Mega Man IV, found in Napalm Man's stage. It is a cluster of dirt blocks that explode in a trail.

Fuse Platforms are included in the Megamix Engine, and are planned to appear as a devkit gimmick in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level. The first game to use them was Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, in Refurbished Pyramid.

Behavior

Fuse Platforms will start off functioning as regular blocks. Once a timer on a nearby FusePlatformStarter object reaches 0, the nearby Fuse Platforms will be destroyed, with the order they're destroyed in depending on the path of direction-changing objects for each of the four cardinal directions.

Fuse Platform Starters have three creation code values:

  • timeUntilDeath - How many frames until the object explodes and starts the chain reaction. Default value is 30 frames.
  • alarmTimeMax - How many frames the chain reaction pauses for between the destruction of the previous Fuse Platform and the destruction of the next one. Default value is 7 frames.
  • startDir - The direction that the chain reaction starts in. Default value is 'down'.
