Ladder Press is an enemy from Mega Man 4. It is a security robot intended to stop intruders from using ladders.
Ladder Presses were first available with the Megamix Engine, and as such were present in the devkits for Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level. Prior to either games' release, it appeared in the Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero level Null and Void. It would go on to appear in the MaG48HMML entries Perilous Mountain, Frozen Lab, and Lasers and Platforms. In the same game, they also appear extensively in Gordyn Pressman's cabin (B1) on the SS Elroy.
Behavior
Ladder Presses move up and down ladders, clamping together at regular intervals in an effort to damage Mega Man while he's climbing. If a Ladder Press isn't on a ladder (either due to spawning off of one or the ladder disappearing somehow), it will fall offscreen completely. Ladder Presses are completely immune to weapons, forcing the use of evasion.
The speed that a Ladder Press moves up and down a ladder at can be altered by setting the "moveSpeed" variable's value in creation code.
