The BG Laser is a gimmick from Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, found exclusively in the stage Vertical Hunger. It is a giant cannon positioned in the background, which shoots a large laser into the foreground.

Behavior

BG Laser cannons remain in the background, and will shoot a laser into the foreground at regular intervals. The laser is made up of a chain of spheres, whose length is more noticeable when the cannon is near the top or bottom of the screen. Contact with the laser will instantly kill Zero, but a weapon equipped with the Icicle Chip can freeze it solid, allowing it to be used as a solid platform.

Notes

• During Vertical Hunger's development, a triple-turreted BG Laser that shot lasers to the left, right and centre of the screen was developed, but it is absent from the final level.
