The Galaxy Man Portal is a gimmick in Mega Man 9, found in Galaxy Man's stage (the last place you'd think it'd be). It is a teleporter that can send Mega Man to another area.
Galaxy Man Portals were first included in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, and were used in the entries The Dampening, Shovel Knight, Enhanced Mobility, Starman Recreation, Escape Sequence, and Donut Observation Center, as well as the Wily stages Lever Oriental Enchanted and Reality Core, the Tier X stage Swiss Hotel, and in Null and Void.
Behavior
When entered, a Galaxy Man Portal will make Mega Man disappear and reappear somewhere else; upon reappearing, he will be sent high into the air (or downwards, if his gravity is reversed). The exact destination is determined by setting the "X" and "Y" variables to the x and y coordinates of the intended destination in the portal's creation code. If left unmodified, the variables default to the x and y position of the original portal, effectively acting as a trampoline.
