Make a Good Mega Man Robot Master
Make a Good Mega Man Robot Master was an art contest held during development of Make a Good Mega Man Level 3. In it, entrants were encouraged to design an original Robot Master, with the winning entries appearing in MaGMML3 as the boss of their own bonus levels. After the winners were announced, a People's Choice vote was held for the public to determine the runners-up, with the winners of these appearing in the game as major NPCs in various areas.

Synopsis
Three categories were available for entrants to choose from, each having a distinct design element or philosophy to them. Like Mega Man 8's boss character contest, entrants were given three templates to base their submissions on, though entries were not allowed to deviate from them:
- Category A: A Pharaoh Man-esque robot with a normal body type, with a long wire extending out from its back.
- Category B: An Air Man-esque robot with a large torso and small head. A large hole was in the torso's centre, intended to be filled with some kind of object.
- Category C: A legless robot similar to Astro Man, with a large spike under its torso. The spike could be replaced with anything, as long as the design remained legless.
Entrants were also required to submit a biography for their design detailing the Robot Master's function and personality, as well as details for how they would act in a boss fight and what their Special Weapon would be.
Entrants could submit a maximum of two designs (each for a different category). Designs could be submitted as either polished artwork or as sprites. The submission period ran from December 30, 2017, to February 15, 2018.
People's Choice
Following the contest's results, the public was allowed to vote for their favourite designs among the other submissions based on five "awards", each focusing on a different aspect of the submissions:
- The Udon Award for Favorite Design
- The Light Award for Most Creative Design
- The Tempo Award for Best Write Up
- The Toad Man Award for Best Boss Fight
- The Sakugarne Award for Best Weapon
In total, 203 votes were cast.
Results
The three winners of the MaGMMRM contest were Reel Man in Category A, Static Man in Category B, and King Man in Category C. All three received their own levels in MaGMML3, with their designers having a significant amount of input on them. The three also had their Special Weapons included as part of the Contest Weapon Data.
Two submissions for Category B, Namahage Man and Slush Man, were both tied for second place and were one point away from Static Man's score. As a consolation prize, the two were included in MaGMML3 as a pair of standalone boss fights.
The winners of the People's Choice awards would make appearances in MaGMML3 as major NPCs, typically as hosts or shopkeepers of various hub areas.
- Ghost Woman won the Favorite Design category, and appears as the host of the Limestone Pagoda.
- Maker Man won the Most Creative Design category, and appears as the shopkeeper of the Costume Shop.
- Idol Woman won the Best Write Up category, and appears in the Victor Heights Bar & Buffet as the game's jukebox.
- Cart Man won the Best Boss Fight category, and appears as the custodian of the game's achievement system.
- Chance Man won the Best Weapon category, and appears in the Magic Card Casino as the shopkeeper for upgrades.
All of the Robot Masters who made it into the game also had slightly truncated versions of their submitted bios included as stories told by Tako Trash in Tier 2.
