- "Her majesty had a vested interest in showcasing the resolve of our Queen's Guard...and struck a deal with Ernest Will to craft an extra trial for the tournament-goers. So, Mega Man... I look forward to meeting you inside. Don't hold back!"
- ―King Man, Make a Good Mega Man Level 3
King Man is a Robot Master designed by Cruise Elroy for the Make a Good Mega Man Robot Master contest. Created to train and coordinate the Queen's Guard in London, he is a robot with two symmetrical bodies fused together like a King playing card, with each crown containing a thruster with which he can fly around. Though often egotistical and cocky, he is nonetheless honest and loyal to his monarch, occasionally acting as a guard himself alongside the ones he manages. His autonomous Royal Guard is able to non-lethally incapacitate intruders, human and robot alike. On one past occasion, Dr. Wily reprogrammed him to act as a double agent, gathering tactical information on the United Kingdom for his schemes, but he has since been restored to normal.
King Man was submitted for Category C (Legless), and won first place in the category with a score of 225 points (beating runner-up Ghost Woman by a five point difference). With this victory, in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 he was given his own stage as a bonus level, with King Man himself serving as its boss. His Special Weapon, the Royal Guard, was also included as part of the Contest Weapon Data.
Outside his level, King Man is present as an NPC in Tier 8, in his secret royal court, only accessed by finding a hidden backstage room in the tier and entering a mirror. While he floats outside the entrance to his level as a greeter, King Man himself serves little other function as an NPC. Elsewhere, Tako Trash is able to give a truncated version of King Man's submission bio as one of his many stories.
Strategy
King Man follows a continuous pattern of attacks:
- First, he lowers himself to just above the floor and charges across the screen four times, changing direction after each time he leaves the screen. While charging, his contact damage is slightly increased.
- After returning, he surrounds himself with the Royal Guard and flies around the arena in a sine wave, firing slow projectiles at Mega Man. The Royal Guard will gradually expand, then retract before all four symbols are fired off at straight trajectories. Although the Royal Guard takes damage from weapons instead of deflecting them, it cannot be destroyed.
- Once the Royal Guard has dispersed, he rapidly spins his body in a circle, firing spurts of three projectiles in two directions that gradually rotate. After shooting six spurts, he flies upright and repeats his pattern from the beginning.

Original submission bio
King Man was created to manage the Queen's Guard in London. Although most of his work involves coordinating and training soldiers to protect Her Majesty and her grounds, King Man also does a bit of watchman's work himself every now and then. Even though he may act rather cocky and egotistical at times, King Man has always been a loyal and honest guardsman.
Each crown on King Man has a thruster that he uses to fly around. His main weapon of choice, the Royal Guard, consists of four unique drones, with each one resembling a different playing card suit. The drones act as a means of non-lethally disabling human provokers by pinning them down, although they can act a bit more deadly against robots if needed. Despite having two bodies, King Man is considered a single entity, not unlike Search Man. Despite being a top-of-the-line guard, Wily still managed to get his hands on King Man and reprogram him. Instead of immediately having him turn to his side, however, Wily kept King Man's altered programming under wraps and had him act as a double agent, gaining intel on important locations in the United Kingdom and reporting any weak spots in their army. Wily has been using this information to carefully prepare for his next attempt at world domination, and considering the amount of info that he has, it would be no surprise if he attempted to take control there first. "Stand back from the Queen's Guard!"
- Weapon: Royal Guard - Press the fire button to summon four playing card suits. They orbit around you like Jewel Satellite, but each individual orbit has its own "health bar" instead of the collective whole. Press the fire button again to fire any suits that are still active. Each one homes in on the closest target. - Boss Pattern - 1. Hovers above Mega Man just low enough to where he can still be hit with charged Mega Buster shots. Will fire a few shots at Mega Man and then swoop down at him. Goes to the opposite side of the room to where he was previously when finished. |

Notes
- The specific use of the "Queen's Guard" in King Man's bio refers to the regiment's name during the reign of Elizabeth II, who was the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom when the Make a Good Mega Man Robot Master contest was held. By the time MaGMML3 released, she had been succeeded by Charles III, and the regiment was renamed the "King's Guard" accordingly.
