- "I had been under the belief that "heroes", such as yourself, were obliged to play by the rules of the game. LIES! ALL OF IT! You are no less of a hypocrite than the rest of this evil-forsaken world. Now! Now... you, will, suffer."
- ―Doctor Reginald Regal, Make a Good Mega Man Level 3
The Regal Machine is a boss in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, serving as the boss of the Wily Stadium stage Chaos Assault. It is a giant combat machine piloted by Dr. Regal, who uses it in a last-ditch effort to destroy Mega Man after both he and Dr. Wily destroy his fortress.

Battle[edit]
Throughout the fight, the Regal Machine constantly walks to the left, requiring Mega Man to continue moving leftward as well. Despite its imposing stature and arsenal of attacks, everything the machine does (including direct contact) can only deal 1 point of damage to Mega Man. Despite Dr. Regal creating a portal to the left in the pre-fight cutscene, the fight will never actually reach it, no matter how long the fight lasts.
Phase 1[edit]
The Regal Machine will randomly perform the following attacks:
- Summoning three Scuttles who run from the right side of the screen to the left. These can be destroyed with a single shot.
- The antenna on the Regal Machine will fire a spray of sparks to the left side of the screen that gradually gets closer to the Regal Machine, then uses a Dark Sword to hit in front of itself.
- The Regal Machine will stomp one of its feet into the ground, creating a shockwave of three rocky pillars.
After its health is depleted, the machine's arms fall off and it transitions into its next phase.
Phase 2[edit]
The Regal Machine will randomly perform the following attacks:
- Firing a massive laser beam just above Mega Man's head. Three small burst effects will come out at set points of the beam, followed by three damaging rings appearing at those positions.
- Shooting three bubbles that move across the screen, periodically bouncing off the ground.
- Summoning three flaming meteors that target Mega Man's position at the time they were summoned. These meteors fall one at a time and can be destroyed with a single shot from most weapons.
After the Regal Machine is defeated, Dr. Regal will attempt to continue the fight in his "Regal Capsule", only for it to be destroyed before the battle can start by the Wily Jet.

Trivia[edit]
- The design of the Regal Machine is based on the Life Virus, the final boss of the original Mega Man Battle Network. While the Life Virus has no connection to Dr. Regal, it was chosen to be the basis of the boss due to the Life Virus being widely considered one of easiest final bosses in the Battle Network series.
- The Regal Machine fight is similar to the Zero and megaman sprite game battles from previous MaGMML games, in that it is a generally humorous boss fight accompanied by music from the most recent Shovel Knight expansion at the time of release.
- When refought in the Boss Gallery or the True Arena, the Regal Capsule cutscene is skipped.
- Though the Regal Capsule is never battled, the Weakness Radar will display its weaknesses as the Break Dash and Prismatic Laser; the Wily Jet disposes of it by using similar weapons.
