CWU-01P is a boss from the original Mega Man. It is an aquatic robot originally created to assess and monitor water quality, before being repurposed by Dr. Wily as a combat robot.
CWU-01P first appears in a brief cameo in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appears to be the boss of the Wily stage Water Ducts, before being quickly destroyed by Mecha Bubble Man. In Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, it appears as a genuine boss, and is exclusive to the Skull Caverns Arena; unlike the other regular bosses within said arena, CWU-01P was not a devkit boss. A battered, rusted CWU-01P can also be found as an NPC in Tier 1.
Battle[edit]
CWU-01P will emerge from one of three portholes in the walls and ceiling, and float in a straight line until it hits a surface. Once it does so, it begins to circle the room in a clockwise motion, frequently firing up to three shots at Mega Man every few seconds. Once CWU-01P takes enough damage, it will be destroyed and lose a small amount of HP from its total pool, and another CWU-01P unit will emerge after a short delay and repeat the pattern. In total, there are seven CWU-01P units; each one has a different eye colour (yellow, blue, green, pink, orange, brown, and finally red) and is faster than the last.
Unlike in the original Mega Man, the room has water physics, and CWU-01P can be jumped over more easily. The Super Arm Blocks in the center of the arena cannot be broken with the Thunder Beam, but they can be grabbed with the Bait Bobber and fired at CWU-01P, mimicking its original Super Arm weakness.

Trivia[edit]
- Much of CWU-01P's programming in MaGMML3 was directly lifted from CWU-41B, which mimics the former's original pattern for its first phase.
- CWU-01P's sprite is reused for both of Gamma's appearances as non-descript circuitry inside its helmet.
