- "Nothing like a stroll through a peaceful forest. Needs more bees, though."
- ―Hornet Man, Make a Good Mega Man Level 2.
Hornet Man is a boss from Mega Man 9. Originally designed by Dr. Light to pollinate flowers in a flower park, he was tricked into working for Dr. Wily after being offered help from him in wake of his expiration date having passed.
He appears in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 as an NPC in Tier 3, as well as in the entry Identity Crisis, where he appears as one of four Robot Masters that Mega Man can transform into. He reappears in the Tier 9-10 section of Reality Core in a similar manner. Clearing Identity Crisis also unlocks Hornet Man as a costume. He appears yet again in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero as an NPC in Mega City.
Hornet Man was added as a boss with the release of the Megamix Engine, and was included as a devkit boss for Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, in which he appears in the entries The Level Equivalent of An Old Man Rambling at You (alongside a variant of himself named "Bee Man"), Hornet Man got a new Stage, and Rec Man (as part of the Remnant Rumble). In the same game, he also appears as an NPC in Tier 15.

Battle[edit]
Hornet Man will go through a simple pattern of hovering upwards, releasing three Hornet Chasers, and running to the other side of the room after he lands from hovering. The hornets will chase after Mega Man multiple times before leaving the screen automatically, if they are not destroyed first. Hornet Man will sometimes run back to the side of the room he started his run from before releasing more hornets.
