The Splash Woman Water Platform is a gimmick in Mega Man 9, found in (unsurprisingly) Splash Woman's stage. It is a floating water tank that exists so long as water exists inside it.
Splash Woman Water Platforms were first included in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, but were only ever used in Null and Void. They would later make appearances in the Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level entry Pollution Park, the Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 Judge Application Level Space Crusade, and the Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero level Bubble Base.
Behavior
Splash Woman Water Platforms travel horizontally without stopping for anything, but will eventually self destruct after a certain amount of time has passed. This time limit is represented by the amount of water inside the platform, which gradually lowers before disappearing completely.
Splash Woman Water Platforms have a dedicated spawner object, which has four creation code variables that affect the platforms spawned by it:
- waitTime - Determines how long the spawner waits before spawning a platform.
- coolDownTime - Determines how long the spawner must wait for before it can spawn another platform.
- activeTime - Sets the number of frames that spawned platforms are active for (by default, 32).
- platformSpeed - Controls the speed spawned platforms move at.
