Shadow Turret is an enemy from Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level. It is a flying robot that relentlessly pursues targets and attacks them with aimed shots. Shadow Turrets are unique to the Goody Two Shoes sidequest, and will only appear in a level when the Shadow Imposter has vandalized it and left a message for Mega Man. However, with the three Shadow Shots cheats, Shadow Turrets can appear in any and all levels.
Behavior
When a Shadow Turret is in the current level, the screen shakes and a sound effect plays before Mega Man teleports in. Once he does, it flies onscreen and starts following him endlessly, persisting even through screen transitions. It cannot be outrun, and roughly every three seconds it will fire a targeted shot at him. Shadow Turrets are immune to almost every weapon, except the Spark Shock, which can stun them temporarily. Even if it is left behind while stunned, however, it will inevitably return to bother Mega Man.
Shadow Turrets come in three types, each of which has its own way of following Mega Man:
- Type A: Slowly follows his movements, but doesn't always stay close to him.
- Type B: Orbits him like a Rounder.
- Type C: Stays at the very top of the screen and flies back and forth across it, firing at him from above.
Trivia
- In v1.0 of MaG48HMML, Shadow Turrets fired their shots more frequently, roughly every two seconds. This was nerfed after players found it made the Goody Two Shoes sidequest difficult.
