The Rotating Spike Platform is a gimmick from Mega Man 6, found in Tomahawk Man's stage. It is a floating platform with spikes on its underside, which flips over when the top side is touched.
Rotating Spike Platform were first available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in the entries Wily Tower, MegaLondo, Biplane Bay, But It Lacked the Depth to Convince Me That This is Really Hell, and Bouncy Castle, as well as the Wily stage Reality Core. It also appeared in the Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero stages Lost Valley and Skyhigh Ridge.
Behavior
When Mega Man touches the flat surface of a Rotating Spike Platform (either by landing atop it, or jumping into it from below), it rotates 180 degrees in an attempt to get him to crash into its spikes. Though they aren't instant death, they do deal damage to him if he touches them.
