"Butterdroid" is an enemy from Rockman & Forte: Mirai Kara no Chousensha. It is a small robot modeled after a butterfly.

Butterdroid was first made available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in the entries Taco Man, A Mega Man for All Seasons, and Bouncy Castle, as well as the Wily stage Outer Space, the Pit of Pits sub-level "Cossack Climb", and in Null and Void. In this game, Butterdroid uses colored versions of its Mirai Kara no Chousensha sprites.

Butterdroid returns in the Megamix Engine, and reappears as a devkit enemy in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level. In the engine, Butterdroid uses slightly edited versions of its old sprites, with different eyes.

Behavior

Butterdroids will slowly fly toward Mega Man, periodically stopping to fire a spread of two projectiles.

Trivia

  • Butterdroid was one of two Mirai Kara no Chousensha enemies to get a sprite edit or new set of sprites in the transition from the MaGMML2 devkit to the Megamix Engine, the other being Fatool.
  • Butterdroid shares a name with an enemy from the video game Sonic & Knuckles, and has a similar color scheme. This is an intentional reference, as ACESpark is a massive Sonic the Hedgehog fan.
