- "A flying robot that drops eggs full of baby pipies that will fly towards Meagaman"
- ―Note in Pipi's code, Megamix Engine
Pipi is an enemy from Mega Man 2. It is a flying survey robot armed with egg-like capsules containing a flock of small Copipi robots.
Pipi was first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, where it appeared in the entries Midnight Snow and Wily Combo, as well as the Wily Castle stages Be the Bigger Person and the Final Stage.
Pipi returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in the entry A Mega Man for All Seasons, as well as the Wily Star II stage Reality Core, and the Pit of Pits sublevels "Paradrop" and "Showdown at Dusk" (with independent Copipis appearing in "Lyrickrolled" and "Typical Miniboss Fights"). It also appeared in the Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level entry Air Trick.
Behavior
Pipi flies across the screen from its spawn point, and will drop its egg once it gets close enough to Mega Man. If the egg hits the ground or some other solid object, it will break open to release a large flock of Copipis, which fly in one direction towards him. Although Copipis are very weak, their main strength comes from their large numbers. If the egg is destroyed before it lands, no Copipis are released.
By default, Pipis are red and white, but setting "col = #" in a Pipi's creation code will change its color and that of the Copipis it releases (1 makes it red and orange, 2 makes it yellow and white).
