Pakatto 24 is an enemy from Mega Man 4. It is a fragile cannon protected by a shield, which it only opens for a brief second to attack.
Pakatto 24 was first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, where it appeared in the entry Spiky Meltdown. In Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered, it also appears in the redesigned Wily stage Flashback Database.
Pakatto 24 returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where it appeared in the entries Wily Tower, Gigavolt Man, Dragon Lab Lair, Force Man, and Boil Man, as well as the Wily stages Water Ducts and Reality Core, the Tier X level Nightwalk Castle, and Null and Void.
Behavior
Pakatto 24s typically only require one shot to take down, but the difficulty comes from getting in that one shot. Most of the time, it is protected by a shield that deflects most attacks, and it only opens it up at regular intervals to fire a single shot (before immediately slamming it down again). Weapons that bypass shields, such as the Black Hole Bomb or Laser Trident, can negate much of Pakatto 24's annoyance, however.
In the Megamix Engine titles (which include Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level and Make a Good Mega Man Level 3), Pakatto 24s have a large vulnerability window than in previous entries. Instead of only being vulnerable during the fully open frame, they are vulnerable during any frame other than fully closed.
