The Ballade Missile is a gimmick from Mega Man IV, found in the Wily Station before the first encounter with Ballade, and after defeating him in the second (as well as Special Stage 3 in Mega Man 10). It is a large missile that detonates when shot.
Ballade Missiles were first available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, and appeared in the entries Chomp Man and Escape Sequence, as well as the Pit of Pits sublevels "A missiled opportunity" and "Michael's Base", and in Null and Void. They also made an appearance in Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, in BlocBunker.
Behavior
Ballade Missiles act as solid, gravity-defying platforms that Mega Man can safely stand on. However, he can also shoot them, and doing so causes them to explode, potentially harming Mega Man if he is too close to it. If a Ballade Missile touches solid ground, it takes on a unique "grounded" sprite, but otherwise functions identically.
Notes
- In MaGMML2, Ballade Missiles used the Mega Man 3 explosion sound when detonated. Starting with the release of the Megamix Engine, however, Ballade Missiles use the Mega Man 10 explosion sound instead, per their use in that game.
- In Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered, recoloured Ballade Missiles appear in Tier 4. However, they are purely cosmetic, and cannot be destroyed.
