The Chill Man Block is a gimmick from Mega Man 10, found in Chill Man's stage. It is a large block of ice that is easily broken.

Chill Man Blocks were first available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, and appeared in the entries Shovel Knight, A Mega Man for All Seasons, Just an Ice Level, Misty Lake, and Sector Upsilon 6, as well as the Wily stage Reality Core, the Tier X stages Deep Thoughts and Swiss Hotel, and the Pit of Pits sublevels "Ice Climber" and "Logan's Runner". They also saw extensive use in the Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level entry Breaking Ground, and in the Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero levels Frosty Fields, Forgotten Fortress: The Lab, Metropolitan Neapolitan, Ice Breaker, and Null and Void.

Behavior

Chill Man Blocks are solid objects that can be used as platforms or barricades. If Mega Man shoots or jumps on them, they will develop large cracks; shooting/jumping on them again will cause the block to shatter. Other entities, such as enemies and bosses, can similarly break Chill Man Blocks, and some weapons (like a Charge Shot or the Magnetic Shockwave) can break them with a single shot. They can also be picked up and used as ammunition by the Super Arm.

With the release of the Megamix Engine, Chill Man Blocks were updated to not only create any entity when broken (determined by setting "itemDrop" to the name of the desired object in a block's creation code), but also draw them as if they were frozen inside the block. Creation code variables exist to allow the user control over how these "frozen" enemies look while inside the Chill Man Block.
