Junk

Junk is a type of collectable in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level. By doing sidequests, Mega Man is rewarded with all manner of random, often broken-down and useless objects. By visiting Joseph, most Junk can be altered or combined with other pieces of Junk to create useful upgrades to Mega Man's abilities. However, some kinds of Junk have other functions, such as being traded for another piece of Junk.

Icon Name Purpose Obtained From Description
DizzyDial.png Dizzy Dial Forms the Balance Stabilizer upgrade. Given by Turner after completing the See Seasickness sidequest. Makes all enemies dizzy, decreasing their accuracy. Or does it?
HEVGloves.png HEV Gloves Forms the Step Booster upgrade. Found at the top of Gordyn Pressman's cabin. Gloves from a mechanical suit designed to withstand high levels of radiation. They have a magnetic grip, for some reason.
JudgementSilversword.png Judgement Silversword Forms the Smite upgrade. Given by Oniwaka after completing the Studying The Blade sidequest. Accursed sword that thirsts for blood. Survival of the fittest forged into sharp metal.
CursedAmulet.png Cursed Amulet Forms the Salmon Shield upgrade along with Radio. Given by Gyosephine after completing the Poltergeist sidequest. Supposedly cursed amulet that's been passed down the Shoars family for generations, but ghosts don't exist, right?
Radio.png Radio Forms the Salmon Shield upgrade along with Cursed Amulet. Given by Gangstatepakkan after completing the Funky Fresh Beats sidequest. An old radio with a built-in cassette player. Batteries not included.
BustedEnergySaver.png Busted Energy Saver Forms the Energy Saver upgrade along with Copper Medal. Given by Serker after completing the Minimal Destruction sidequest. It's broken! The only thing this Energy Saver is saving is dust. If only the energy conductor worked...
CopperMedal.png Copper Medal Forms the Energy Saver upgrade along with Busted Energy Saver. Dropped by Sarge after completing the Bootcamp Graduation sidequest. Proof that you've passed Sarge's training course. It's weird that it's copper instead of gold.
JetTurbine.png Jet Turbine Forms the Blast Wind upgrade along with Iron Boots. Given by Helen after completing the Dancing All Night sidequest. Portable jet plane turbine. With both a wind propeller and a rocket thruster, you can't get much faster than this!
IronBoots.png Iron Boots Forms the Blast Wind upgrade along with Jet Turbine. Given by Crazy Daisy after completing the Mutual Attraction sidequest. Heavy iron boots that are conveniently your size. They're tough and stylish, but their heaviness would slow you down too much.
JointPlug.png Joint Plug Forms the Buster Shot Upgrade upgrade along with Gun Del Sol. Given by Tomothy Daddy after completing the Credit When It's Due sidequest. Plug adapter that can connect attachments to your Buster. Only something solar-powered would work, though.
GunDelSol.png Gun Del Sol Forms the Buster Shot Upgrade upgrade along with Joint Plug. Given by Ringo after completing the Infiltration sidequest. Limited edition toy based on the extremely popular videogame series Boktai by Hideo Kojima. It comes with a real solar panel!
IndustrialVacuum.png Industrial Vacuum Forms the Absorption Armor upgrade along with Cracked Armor. Given by Jean after completing the Occultics Witch sidequest. Cutting edge suction tech lets the user pick which objects in specific they want this vacuum to suck.
CrackedArmor.png Cracked Armor Forms the Absorption Armor upgrade along with Industrial Vaccuum. Given by Bud after completing the Drunk. sidequest. Once a behemoth of an armor, its energy supply has been damaged. It needs a new power source to return to its prime.
MetalDetector.png Metal Detector Forms the Payday upgrade along with Power Magnet. Given by Bol'o and Nu'o after completing the Love Survivor sidequest. Standard store-bought metal detector, but the love with which it has been given to you makes it special.
PowerMagnet.png Power Magnet Forms the Payday upgrade along with Metal Detector. Given by Bol'o and Nu'o after completing the Love Survivor sidequest. Large magnet commonly used in assembly plants, but the love with which it has been given to you makes it special.
Zetsabre.png Zetsabre Forms the Beat Saber upgrade along with Green Eye. Given by Deleuze Pipi after completing the Avian Kingdom sidequest. Toy sword from a popular comic about a red robot fighting four evil blue robots. It needs 18 D batteries to light up.
GreenEye.png Green Eye Forms the Beat Saber upgrade along with Zetsabre. Given by Overseer, The after completing the Goody Two Shoes sidequest. Ancient orb-shaped power source; sadly incompatible with the Buster. Needs a vessel that can hold a lot of energy.
SignedPoster.png Signed Poster Trade with Helen for Jet Turbine. Win HEART*HAT's memory game. Poster signed by members of the dancing group HEART*HAT. Could be sold for a lot of money, but Dr. Light has enough.
GordynsRoomKey.png Gordyn's Room Key Opens the door to Gordyn's cabin. Given by Gordyn Pressman after clearing Frozen Lab with six or less jumps. Key for Gordyn Pressman's room. For any kids playing: don't give strangers your room key when on a trip!
PaperBag.png Paper Bag Trade with Turner for Dizzy Dial. Given by Mack after clearing Caution: Moving Parts in 2 minutes and 30 seconds or less. It looks like a paper bag but it's actually super-paper, which is way stronger and more awesome than normal paper.
GrannyOhsRoomKey.png Granny-Oh's Room Key Opens the door to Granny-Oh's cabin. Given by Bonnie after talking to her in Double Action Boutique's back room. Key for Granny-Oh's room. For any kids playing: don't give strangers your room key when on a trip!
CreditCard.png Credit Card Trade with Tomothy Daddy for Joint Plug. Given by Granny-Oh after talking to her in her cabin. Credit card belonging to Tomothy Daddy. You could use it to commit credit card fraud, but that would be out of character.
LostLove.png Lost Love Give to Acolyte Joe to finish his ritual. Dropped by ghost in Celestial Resort after chasing it to the end during the Occultics Witch sidequest. Soul of Acolyte Joe's late beloved. The strength of their love has allowed it to maintain a consistent form.

Rare Weapons

Rare Weapons are a unique type of Junk that act as pseudo-upgrades, sold by a Dachone Ltd. Ed. named Gildmore after collecting 60 Energy Elements. He doesn't offer a selection, but instead gives one at random after paying, provided it hasn't already been bought. Each one alters the palette of its respective Special Weapon, giving it a golden colour, sparkles, and a trail effect. The effect is purely cosmetic, and Rare Weapons aren't counted towards 100% completion. A Rare Weapon can be toggled on or off on the pause menu.

Notes

  • The Gun Del Sol references the Gun Del Sol Battle Chips from the Mega Man Battle Network games, which themselves reference the primary weapon in the Boktai series.
  • The Zetsabre is based on the item from the original Mega Man Legends, which is also a toy sword used to create a weapon.
  • Rare Weapons were invented partially as a means of filling the Junk section of the pause menu up, as obtaining more upgrades means possessing less Junk.
  • The inspiration for Rare Weapons was Shovel Knight's Ornate Plate, which gives a similarly flashy but useless visual upgrade.
  • With the Bass Mode cheat active, the Rare Rush Coil and Rare Rush Jet affect the Treble Boost's palette; the Rare Rush Coil turns it bronze, the Rare Rush Jet turns it silver, and having both active turns it gold.
