Silver Stars are bonus collectibles found in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, acting as the successor to Green Stars from Make a Good Mega Man Level 2.

Like Green Stars, they will appear in every level whenever the "Green Stars...?" cheat is active; unlike Green Stars, Silver Stars are invisible until Mega Man is close enough to them, with only faint particle effects clueing him in to their location. Many Silver Stars demand tricky platforming, reaching obscure or hard to reach areas of the map, and even forced death. Several require use of the Contest Weapons, such as the Electro Cable, Track Shoes, and Banshee Wail, or some combination of the three. Additionally, some Silver Stars only appear after pressing a button (itself hidden invisible), activating a short timer until it disappears; typically, the Rush Bike is required to make it to the star in time.

In total, there are 1,055 Silver Stars to collect, with almost every level having five stars per level — the one exception is Shrine of Nebula, which instead has 25 to collect. Silver Stars do not appear in side areas such as the arenas, the NEO Pit of Pits, and Ladder Hell. Upon collecting all Silver Stars in a level, an apparition of Dr. Wily will appear and perform the "Default Dance" from Fortnite (as seen in Blizzard Resort). The level's stars will then be reset, but will still be marked as collected, with a Silver Star emblem being added to the level teleporter.

There is no reward for collecting every Silver Star, and they have no bearing on save file completion.

When the Green Stars...? cheat is active, a Silver Star tracker is added to the pause menu. Many NPCs in the hubs and tiers will discuss Silver Stars when talked to, such as Dr. Light, Iota, Ghost Woman, and more. In particular, "Green Star Man" replaces Proto Man in every tier, and he will offer "hints" about finding Silver Stars.

Like MaGMML2, several cheats are disabled to prevent Mega Man from easily obtaining Silver Stars; if at least one "forbidden" cheat is active upon entering a level, all such cheats will be disabled right before the start, with a message at the bottom indicating as much. In Bass Mode, the Treble Boost is similarly disabled, and is replaced with the Treble Coil and Treble Jet.

Notes

  • Like Green Stars, Silver Stars hail from the Super Mario Bros. series, specifically as they appear in Super Mario Galaxy. There, collecting five of them turns them into a Power Star, but they are otherwise significantly easier to find than their MaGMML3 iterations.
  • Silver Stars were added to version 1.1 of MaGMML3. Prior versions named the Green Stars...? cheat "???", with Eddie's description being "...Ah, I'm still working on this one. You can pre-purchase if you'd like, but... this one'll take some extra effort." Buying the cheat did nothing (save for automatically unlocking it after updating to 1.1), but was still necessary for 100% completion.
