"Combiloid" is a midboss from Rockman & Forte: Mirai Kara no Chousensha. It is a robot on treads that connects to a "buddy" on the ceiling.

Combiloid is included in the Megamix Engine, and is planned to appear as a devkit midboss in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level.

Behavior

Combiloids have two components: the Combiloid itself (which can take damage), and the Buddy (which is invincible). The Combiloid will simply move back and forth within the room, firing projectiles as it moves. It can only be hit in the head, which it hides while moving. While Combiloid moves, the buddy will hover over Mega Man before choosing one of two attacks:

  • Mace: Fires a spiked ball at Mega Man, which bounces back to the Buddy and explodes.
  • Gun: Fires five projectiles in a spread, one at a time.

When Combiloid reaches the edge of the room, it will briefly connect itself to its Buddy before the two resume the pattern. Once Combiloid is destroyed, the Buddy is destroyed along with it.

Combiloid and its Buddy can also be used independently of each other. If used in this manner, they will not try to connect to one another (on account of the other not being present).

Trivia

  • With 35 health points, Combiloid has the highest default health value of any enemy or midboss in the Megamix Engine (not counting enemies such as Spine, who have health values such as 256 that are only used as placeholder HP), beating Shirokumachine GTV by 3 health points, and fellow Mirai Kara no Chousensha midboss Bee Blader by 7 health points.
