"A modified version of Bubukan. Invincible until you approach it, where it will then spring past you and freak out on the ground, before springing back at you."
―Note in Bubukan MK-II's code, Megamix Engine

Bubukan MK-II is an enemy from Mega Man III. It is a modified Bubukan that vaults over targets with its own body, rather than a pole.

Bubukan MK-II was first made available in the Megamix Engine, and as such was present in the devkits for all games using it. The first of these games to use it was Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level, where it appeared in the entry Rocky Blocky Cavern. It didn't appear in any entries for Make a Good Mega Man Level 3, but it still saw use in that game via the NEO Pit of Pits sublevel "Olympic Assault".

Behavior

Bubukan MK-IIs will run forward until they get close enough to Mega Man. Once they do, their bodies spring up into the air and over him, while their legs fall offscreen. Upon landing, they wobble back and forth for a few moments, before bouncing on their springs in Mega Man's direction.
