"A big casttle [sic] composed of three eyes, the central eye has 12hp, and the other two 7hp. he will open his gate to throw platforms that the player must use to damage the higher eyes. His high eyes control cannons that aim at the player."
―Note in Tricastle's code, Megamix Engine

Tricastle is a midboss from Mega Man 10. It is a castle robot with three faces.

Tricastle is included in the Megamix Engine, and is planned to appear as a devkit midboss in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3. Although it went unused in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level, it still appears as an NPC in the SS Elroy's aquarium, with said aquarium being accessible only via the Tamp NPC in Tier 7. The chances of being teleported to the aquarium increase depending on the number of bolts the player has. Its spiked platforms were also used as a pseudo-gimmick in the stage Robot Recycling Center.

Behavior

The center and side faces of Tricastle have different behaviors:

  • The center face will periodically open its hatch and release two platforms with spiked edges in Mega Man's direction. Once the center face is defeated, the hatch will be destroyed and the platforms will be released at a more consistent rate.
  • The side faces will aim their respective cannons to fire bombs that travel in arcs and create damaging explosions upon contact. When a side face is defeated, its cannon will be destroyed.

Each face takes turns performing their respective action, with the center face going first, the side face furthest from Mega Man going second, and the side face closest to Mega Man going third. When all three faces are defeated, the battle ends.
