"A robot armadillo from Mars's stage that fires homing missiles and slides around in a hard, nigh impervious shell. Also Armored Armadillo's ancestor?! :connection_to_the_x_series:"
―Note in Armaroid's code, Megamix Engine

Armaroid is an enemy from Mega Man V. It is an armadillo robot built with a sturdy armored shell and guided missiles built to resemble spines.

Armaroid was first made available via the release of the Megamix Engine, and thus appeared in the devkits for all games built with it; the first of which was Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, where it appeared in Scarlet Temple. It returned in Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level in the entries Forest Castle and Combustion Castle. No entries in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 used it, and its only appearance in the game was with the NEO Pit of Pits sublevel "Hotel Mega Man".

Behavior

At a distance, Armaroid fires a missile from its back, which will relentlessly track Mega Man down. If the missile is destroyed, Armaroid merely fires another. If Mega Man gets too close, it will tuck into its shell and spin rapidly back and forth for a few seconds, turning back from edges to avoid falling off platforms. Whle spinning, it deflects non-piercing weapons.
